I often think that I don't see the cities I live in (Delhi and London, so far), in the same way as I look at the ones I visit. Every new place bursts into my consciousness as I experience it - much like a brilliantly coloured firecracker. When you start living in a city, the brilliant embers start to die down. You become ingrained in the city, one with it, you flow with it, and therefore lose the higher vantage point of an 'outsider's point of view'. Often when I click my city, I try to remind myself to look at it as an outsider would.
The funny thing is that now that I've lived in London for sometime, I look at Delhi like that. And the view is so much more interesting from here!
